Welcome to the 5k Pledge!

We are an aspired writer that continues to struggle with consistency in his craft. That’s the reason we’ve created this blog: we need you to read our writing; we need a database that stores all of our wordsmith.

What’s in it for you, readers? We are flipping the tables. Instead of you paying us to read our words, we are paying you on the premise of failure.

What does failure mean? Everyday, for the next 365 days, we will process one blog entry on a topic. If we do not deliver, we compensate you for our failure(s). The reader with the most points will be paid 5000 Canadian dollars. Details of scoring will be posted in our scoreboard section.

Topics on this blog will vary; we hope at least one perks your eyes and interests for reading:

  • Education- we are an English teacher! Read about our gripes in regards to education. Mull on the positives and how we instill soft skills into the future world leaders. Read on about gamification in our classroom, Project Based Learning, books we’ve read that have inspired our craft. Travel deeper into the darker stories about how we almost lost our teacher licensure due to an accusation.
  • Writing- An English teacher and published author needs to know how to write! Here you’ll see a vast topics that range from writing, what resources we use to become better writers, what projects we are working on, and what our bigger goals are in regards to writing. It’ll tickle your fancy, perhaps provide some inspiration, and detail our journey to become better writers.
  • Book Reviews- these are texts we read for leisure that are evaluated by us. We will always tell you what we are currently reading. We strive to read a novel a week.
  • Fitness- it’s a general term, because we are a strong believer in hybrid training. Think P90x, except modified to make time for writing and educating. We will write about our yoga adventures came to a halt, Lullulemon, bodily kinestic workouts, traditional gym approaches, and trail running. Times may even be posted from our Garmin watch for us to store, and for you to read.
  • China- some don’t understand why we’ve rooted ourselves in China for so long, others cannot believe we are “fluent” in Chinese! Though we modestly don’t believe we are fluent, we will share our process and strategies that helped us achieve a communicative level in Mandarin. Mostly this section will talk about anything China related, including doing business in China and living on Chinese soil. We will detail the adversities foreigners face here. We will also show you how to register on Taobao. Fingers will gently graze the dating world of China and how culture differences really create a dissonance between partners. This section of our blog will evolve as our experiences in life change. Be ready for anything China related!
  • Korea(n)-We are learning it, and thinking of moving to the land. What’s up with our sudden shift from China to this? Read on if you want to find a little <3!
  • Millionaire by 33- we are 27, debt free, and have a networth of 47000 dollars! There’s no millionaire Art of the Deal; we made all of our money by ourselves. All of our cash has been made through business, strategic investing, budgeting, and being frugal. Find out how we paid for our university tuition by using cars and hoodie sales at the University of Alberta. What’s our portfolio look like now? How do we calculate our networth? What loop holes have we found to increase our networth? Are loopholes illegal, or just someone not doing their homework? Read about how we try to become a millionaire by 33!
  • Technology-we love tinkering with tech, just as much as a great book! Here you’ll find sporadic topics about vacuum cleaners, all the way to Kodi boxes and Raspberry pi. We want to share our knowledge on how we’ve integrated technology into our lives. Reviews of technology will be posted when inspiration arises.
  • Book Reviews- this section will review crappy and amazing books.
  • Faith-how did we swing from atheist to churchgoer, tithe payer, Christian? What are current struggles with our faith? How are we justifying our financial goals all while still living a Christian life?
  • Annex- this room is without a light. Writing is therapeutic. Here’s where you’ll find our non-fiction stories. We intend to publish, but due to our career being in the public eye, we know that maintaining a pen name is of upmost priority. Without a pen name, we will be forced to hold back. Read about how we dealt with being raped by both a gay man and woman. What legal measures did we have in China? What about in Canada? In the Annex you’ll read a story about a bad blowjob that made our cock turn black. Dig deeper and read how we were robbed and scrutinized on a business deal. Journey with us into the wonders and curses of prostitution, drug use, and blackmail. Here you’ll find stories that only we know. Writing gives us a chance to make our stories read. Hopefully the annex sheds some “light” on our mistakes so that readers can prevent moul hills turning into mountains.
  • The Scoreboard- here’s where you can possibly make money $! Here you’ll find the rules for making this blog, what our responsibility is as readers, and how you garner points to win cash. You’ll also see scoreboards which will be updated on a weekly bases on an excel spreadsheet.

Our word is our guarantee; reneging is not an option:

Our words will be edited to the best of our ability prior to publishing. We promise to deliver one article a day. Due to inspiration and our ability to go off and on tangent, we cannot guarantee a word count. We will only publish our best words. Length may vary, but quality will not.
